LBSD 5.9'll be out pretty soon.
Not too much work to do, so I think it'll be ready in a week or two. ^_^
Notice that Trisquel has a NetInstall too: the "More" link on
https://trisquel.info/en/download must be clicked to see it.
What is in ~/.xinputrc (that is "the hidden file named ".xinputrc" inside
your home folder)?
It looks like you do not actually have a (working) persistent storage. You
could try using Trisquel's "Startup Disk Creator" in the "System Settings":

Only "openssh-client" is part of Trisquel 7's default install, not
"openssh-server".
I'm surprised at the hardware you all seem to have. I've been running an 8
core CPU with 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 970 for almost two years now.
If you're out for an "experience", you can install xfce. I like the default

moved from CDE quite painlessly to BSD. I always install the same softeware

Well, it's true it depends on each person's preferences and needs.
But for example in Debian I had to manually install gedit, since the only
editor that came was nano. And nano is fine, but I mean, unless you know the

What the permissions on the file?
As far as the PDF files go, sometimes it's tricky to select a field, but
that's not what I'm talking about; I'm talking about a field that I can click
in, but doesn't allow me to type in any text.
I've tried renaming by double-clicking the file name, and by right-clicking
the file and selec
I don't think there's much reconfiguring but it of course depends on your
needs. Just pkg_add some software for image viewing (Feh), media (Smplayer)
and WWW browsing (Elinks or Firefox). Resolution and sound can be configured
in a terminal (xrandr, mixerctl). Everything works usually out of
It's weird you know? They went through the trouble of removing other non-free

Other than that, does anyone knows when the next version of LSBD will come

customary to have lots of windows open, mostly terminals.

They employ NdisWrapper which is support for Windows drivers. Sounds

I volunteer for Italian if it is not too much of a work for I need to take
care of some other translations too.
Tried the SPM deselect. After deselecting all the unused language packs (and
applying the change which erased >1GB of data supposedly) I did a reboot and
all the language packs where back. I did step two and partitioned the thumb
drive for a 4GB partition, restarted in Trisquel, and move my
Thanks for your comment. But regarding "libre" are they a good choice? I only
ask because they say they follow Debian Guidelines, which are not all that
bad. And because for a beginner it could be easier to use than LBSD.

From the manual:
PermitRootLogin
Specifies whether root can log in using ssh(1). The argument must be
“yes”, “prohibit-password”, “without-password”,
“forced-commands-only”, or “no”. The default is
“prohibit-password”.
If this option is set to “prohibit-password” or

You might want to take a look at
https://www.gnu.org/software/repo-criteria-evaluation.html.
I am planning on doing that, though it really is not all important (I have my
firewall blocking access on SSH port anyway).
What worried me was that if this is the default, people are at danger when
making a fresh install of Trisquel, AND if it is NOT the default, I might
have done something
Delete SSH then.
I have a feeling that "StrictModes Yes" might stop it, though. No idea.
Hi and thank you to trisquel community for supporting our project (Uruk
project and Uruk GNU/Linux) , we need some help to translate the website and
some programs in Uruk project and Uruk GNU/Linux to other languages,Thanks

Hey.
So, following my issue of my laptop using too much CPU, I decided to take a
look at security and noticed that running RKHunter gave me a warning on SSH
login.
I noticed that /etc/ssh/sshd_config had these 2 lines:
"PermitRootLogin without_password"
"StrictModes Yes"

I will give both those suggestions a shot and post results. Thanks!
Did you do any updates with Software Installer or with sudo apt-get
update/sudo apt-get upgrade ? If so, there may be no space left in the USB
stick. That has been my own recent experience.
There are two ways of getting around this impasse:
1. Use Synaptic Package Manager to unselect all but
I used the Pen Drive Linux's USB Installer

Savannah might be OK. I switched from Github to Gitlab and it is pretty good,
and you can run the software on your own server too.
As for Git repositories I'd recommend Not A Bug (notabug.org).
It's fully Free Software and is an all-around cool public Git repo.
Could rival Github pretty well.

Greetings ladies and gentlemen, I've created a program under the GPL license
and I want to make it public, that means: looking for a git repository and
making a webpage for it.
Could you recommend me public git repos (someone recommended me Savanna)? And

That's good to know; it will do well for a workaround, until someone can
figure out what is causing this, and comes up with a fix.
It's working now! I even corrected a bug in the end of the script, it would
never write "Finished name_of_video" and now it does (would give this back to
the guys who wrote the script, but they never answered my emails so I don't
think they even read them).
Also, I updated the curl parameters
Unfortunately I am having the same problems with Nautilus as well, and could
not find a solution. The keyboard input to Nautilus halts (cannot input
anything in the search fields, and Ctrl+C/Ctr+V also does not work), even
though I am able to type in other programs (Abrowser, LibreOffice etc)
Attached is the example PDF.
After renaming the file(s) in Nautilus, the keyboard still works for
everything else, just not to rename other files.
Could you send the example PDF?
After renaming files in Nautilus, does the keyboard stops working all along,
or it just doesn't allow you to keep renaming other files? Could you type
other things in nautilus like making a search?
I hope there is something we can do to help you.
Hello, I am having a couple of issues that I think are probably related:
First, whenever I open up a PDF file with editable fields, I can successfully
type in a couple of fields, but then, whenever I select a new field and try
to type, nothing is filled in.
Also, the same thing happens when
Thanks! That worked! I love to learn new stuff :)
However there seems to be a problem with the script itself (which may have
been a mistake on my part) so I will have to check it better and let you guys
know if it worked or not :)
...a very noticable bit that's missing is support for athn...
I don't know about that but my Asus EEE PC 1001PXD works with athn on
libertyBSD. The installer asks to confirm the connection and I took the first
which is athn0.
"This connection is untrusted." I guess their certificate has expired.

I tried with sudo, tried with sudo and "", always get the permission denied

Thanks for the reply and advice. I installed libertyBSD over openBSD. It
