My last few attempts resulted in playable fine quality sequences of 10 to 17
minutes!?
I am running Cinnamon on Flidas. Under system settings there is a power
management icon, but when clicking it, system settings shut down. This is
probably due to Flidas not being beta yet and I suppose it will be solved.
But...
1) Should report it?
2) How do I change power management
I may be a bit behind the curve here, but I've just discovered the WebTorrent
project and I'm as excited as a kid in a candy store. This is a kind of
technology we dreamed of having access to in the days when Indymedia users
started drifting off to YouTube because our Indymedia sites
Hi Sasaki,
I had to give it up when it was some DVD coming from Universal because they
were protected. I had to rip all my own DVDs from this ugly company on an
Apple computer.
I just had one DVD who didn't seemed to be protected. I used to make an image
of it before encoding it as I

It seems to be so. On the other hand- and it's no excuse for running
proprietary software- there doesn't seem to be a great deal of functionality:
for example, there seems to be no way to communicate over the
Indeed, "Eww"buntu carries an identical file.
I'm not sure who the person to ask would be, but (although slightly
inconvenient) SuperTramp's suggestion above works: it should be possible to
cross-check the Debian version listed for a Trisquel release with which
Ubuntu version it corresponds to: Belenos has Debian Jessie as a
I had the same problem when trying to rip a DVD with handbrake. It stopped at
1O minutes everytime. I gave up thinking there was some sort of copy
protection. Just after this I succesfully ripped another one.
You may try to check if there is something wrong with the DVD.
Most likely solution is to add missing modules to grub, like cryptodisk.mod
at least (thanks to the people at #coreboot. Hey, did the guys at Twitter get
the # thing from irc?).
I need to modify the Kcinfig file before rebuilding grub, and re-insert it in
the rom, which I need to reflash.

Because I want to know.

No, I have not.

That may be illegal. When I
OK, now the install is all done (although it was without internet connection,
so a few things are missing).
And now, surprise: cryptomount -a doesn't work.
After recovering from my hopes being crushed, I tried to ask the web. No
answer.
it says:

No, I didn't mean it is.
I had to rip with Simple Burn a DVD containing cevral movies from 25 to 10
minutes. I see what you mean with the "play all" you can find in music videos
dvd. But it wasn't this kind of DVD.
To my surprise, Simple Burn didn't recognize the shortest ones.

OK, So one single large partition on each 3 drives, but they're taken as 3
different volumes, which is fine.
Put in practice, it does mean three passphrases.
Since I found no simple guide to do this, I'll just try and see if putting
the same passphrase for the 3 drives is gonna prompt trice.
I always wondered why there was several terminals in any distro (2 versions
of those xterms things, and another one like gnome-terminal for instance).
I guess some have more features while some might only work in specific cases.
Here's a screenshot -- XTerm running in Trisquel 8. The fonts can be easily
changed into something more eye-pleasing.
There's Sylpheed available in the repos.
You mean it's too long?
I haven't had such a problem myself, and I've ripped a few DVDs with
Handbrake. Are you perhaps choosing the wrong titles or chapters? Usually
there's a title for the "play all" thing and then DVDs with multiple episodes
of a TV show have each of them as a title. So
Thanks Magic :)
I was annoyed at first,
but mostly because I though it was yet another problem.
Thanks again!

Evolution may be included afterwards. After all, it is in Ubuntu 16.04's

Accept. It must be for things like GPT and GRUB stage 1.5. Believe it or
not: you will not miss those 0.5% of your disk capacity.
Ah, maybe a hint: "free space starts at (0, 0, 34) and ends at (364801, 80,
29)".
The 1MB starts at (0, 0, 34) and ends at (0, 32, 31),
the 466,4 KB occupies the last space left.
No info around the web :(
David ;-)
I'm as you with Trisquel 7 mini but Xfce, nevertheless Network Manager is
identical whatever DE you are under.
You have to click on Network Manager applet, then modify your current
ethernet connection settings.
Click on Network Mnager applet > Modify (etho) > In the General
There can be an alternative way to make a Mkv of your favourite DVD.
1. Make an image of your whole DVD on your hard drive with this command :
dd if=/dev/sr0 of=nameoftheDVD.iso
sr0 is my DVD player, it can be something else for you.
2. Mount your iso image. You can also play it to see if
cat /etc/debian_version

Have no idea if there is an equivalent version text file in oobuntuuu...
Oh my, I just remembered the sad times when I was a Win used: "This is a
demo. To continue your rippin' upgrade to the full version of this software
for the reasonable price of 99.90 dollars". :D
Have you tried using another program to rip your DVD?

Consider though the following truth: we are still much more knowledgeable
than say 95% of Windows users. So there's that, mate Bahn :P
As you, its capacity seems rather limited.
There are assignments, recursions, etc. That probably is enough for the

The problem is not the interpreter but the code that is interpreted, which

Thanks SuperTramp :)
To get the video signature, huh.
Question remaining is, how does it run that said JS.
30 matches for the word "signature" in that youtube.py.
This isn't easy to understand.
also, be aware that installing the libdvdcss package in the Saudi Arabia of

I'd like to ask one of the developers a question: does youtube-dl run

I installed Flidas in a virtual machine. The screen reader drives me crazy.
It was the first thing to go.
Soothing space wallpaper calms me down.
I installed April 5th - not sure which version that makes it.
I am generally happy with it. And like loldier, I found Icedove which I use
without issues.
I sue the Cinnamon DE, and there seems to be a lack of functionality. E.g.

When I prepare my 3 TB drive with one big partition, it always suggests one 1

It's brand new. Is there anything I can do?
With the third generation of Flidas ISOs having been released recently, and
the establishment of its wonderful stability, now seems like a good time to
start a Trisquel 8 feedback thread- idea courtesy of Mangy Dog and Pandya.
I can only personally comment on the second generation live CD,
You may very well have. Even IF licensing restrictions and what-not make it
illegal now, these only came into effect after Belenos. Such a feature might
very well exist: I agree with you that it would be a wonderful feature to
have.
Any idea of whom to ask for a such?
Good idea! I'm going to do that now.
@Soon.to.be.Free , I needed to do this to setup my existing VPN connection.
It shows a few tabs for configuring various things, but I cannot find any
option to automatically start the VPN.
I am using handbrake to back up and convert dvds. I just solved the css issue
of encryption (https://trisquel.info/en/forum/problems-playing-dvd).
Now I face another one:
When I use handbrake to rip, it seems to be working fine and it produces a

I am using T8 now. I do have some issues, but since I am not savvy when it
comes to computers, I am unsure whether these issue are due to the iso or me
being alpha (pre-alpha in my case).
My point is, if I can make any daily use of it, I suppose most people here
can.
Thanks - sometimes finding the right place to read is the biggest issue!

I am/was pretty sure I have seen that information extracted via terminal

Thanks for the clearance
This is really turning off topic (sorry) but I really want to understand how

Actually I'm more interested in getting iso(s)
How about adding new post for it?
How about gNewSense?
Yes, I did want to know whether it's beta or alpha.
On the other hand I might just download it and test.
Back at it, Seabios doesn't go automatically to GRUB anymore. I have to hit
ESC, which only now displays a list (GRUB included). I better get the right
timing...
I didn't change anything since last time, so I don't know why it displays the
list now. This calls for some Seabios tweaking
Interesting, thanks :)
I wonder whether it makes function calls to other files.
I'll try and roughly figure out those json dumps things.
