To test whether my issues have anything to do with Trisquel, I made the same
web rtc calls using a flash drive installation of Fedora 19, and tried both

GNU/Linux.
Exail can be set to do this, too.

GNOME Shell is accessible, using Orca screen reader, in distros other than
Trisquel. When I try GNOME Shell in Trisquel 6, Orca cannot read the top

Is Consort available for installation to Trisquel 6? I couldn't do anything

Thanks for the config settings, explanations, and link to more. The

+1 on copying the link, using unplug, and playing the media with vlc. Totem

The gui for pgp is called seahorse, and is listed as Passwords and Keys; You

When upgrading to a new release, I've always done as suggested in #6. Allow

You need to install pavucontrol; it's not included by default.

Or run Trisquel from a usb drive installation.
I have an old, dumb (can only make and receive voice calls) phone that is
barely used and switched off most of the time.
My understanding is that GNOME = 3.10 depends on systemd and Ubuntu still
uses upstart for its initialization. Will Ubuntu either switch init to using
systemd, or do they plan to patch GNOME 3.10 to make it upstart-compatible?
My phone is a benefit of the USA's Lifeline program for people with

There's an applet called Main Menu in System Settings; that doesn't do what

More included apps, special FSF page on startup, and, maybe, different art

From other lists, I have the understanding that portions of GNOME 3.10 depend

If you don't want windows at all, use the replace windows with Trisquel

Never has GNOME Shell forced me to enter settings into the online accounts

pidgin and have auto-answering turned off. Problem solved. I agree with
others who say this is a badly-written opt-in.
I find vlc player most suitable for video playback.
I left gnash in place, since it is part of a big meta-package, and removing
it sounded scary; LOL. Best to disable the gnash plugin in abrowser, and
use an extension like youtube-all-html5 and/or unplug, to grab multi-media
content.
Does anyone know of a browser addon, pidgin plugin, or stand-alone app for
accessing pump.io instances, like identi.ca?
Thanks, D. H.
Thanks for suggestion! I don't think statusnet is same as pump.io. Also, I
cannot use gwibber; it doesn't work with Orca screen reader, a requirement of
mine.
I'm happy with espeak as shipped in Trisquel, and use it for hours at a time,

Here's the requested script as .gz file.
Those wishing the choice of desktop at instsll time can use the Net edition.

That's great to know; thanks for doig the test:)! I've been directing people

After posting my last, I updated, and find that the pointer to system monitor

Thanks! I found the command and put the pointer back in gnome contril

Thrilled that the process has begun! :D What does it mean to 'debootstrap'?
Maybe I'll just wait for the iso.
I don't think there is a fallback edition of GNOME 1.10 or 3.12, whatever

If you just need a gui browser, but not the whole desktop, maybe you can
install something like openbox or lxde? After installation, you can disable
the display manager, assuming one got included. This will give you a login

You can use 'alt+f1' to open the menus, and 'ctrl+alt+tab' to cycle among

Agreed with T3g; the time to put the new kernel and xorg stack into the
release was at the time the 6.0.1 iso was made.
Of all the desktops on GNU/Linux, I'd say universal access is most mature in
GNOME. Mate accessibility has come a long way, very quickly! LXDE and XFCE

Doing this in Main Menu is also a fine idea; you can put the shortcut in the

@onpon4 I think the main reason GNOME is still used is the accessibility.
GNOME Shell's accessibility is much improved since version 3.4 (as in

perhaps, be the new default. Shell is slow, especially with
