It never suggested to install the firmware for my ATI crap. I assure you of that! I never saw the deblobbed Debian kernel or any other part of Debian recommend the installation of the ati blob or mention the non-free firmware. But maybe I'm an exception to this. I don't know that.

hmm..not being able to login into a site in my experience has been almost always caused by the cookies not being allowed at all (my default setting) or not allowing also the third party cookies. Some sites require that you accept both in order to login. Just an idea.. Give it a try maybe.

That's correct moxalt. I remember that. When I tried to purge evolution it wanted to delete a lot of stuff that should not be deleted. I remember I had to delete evolution using synaptic and leaving out two libraries that are somehow strongly tied to the other important parts of the OS.
