Check your download, check the USB thumb drive. Try another and make a new

That's a good catch. I see no checksum files for the netinst ISOs.
I think the add/remove applications GUI is useful for people who migrate from
MS Windows or those who prefer its simplicity.
It's supposed to be an easy step for people not happy or proficient with the
