I tried shutting down the computer and removing USB before powering it on and I get this message: "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key".

Sorry if this is something obvious, but I would appreciate any help on this: I have tried installing Trisquel from USB Hard Drive, and in the end it says installation is complete but needs to re-start the pc. I do this and it takes me back to the reboot screen and it only gives me the option to try Trisquel without installing or installing Trisquel (but I already did!). I did re-install it to see if it worked the second time. When I do this, it tells me Trisquel is already installed and if I want to install a new copy alongside the other one or if I want to replace it.

I did sudo apt-get clean before. I made a backup of my files and would like to resize but wasn't able to do it yet.

I see. I've no idea how I got this very small home partition. I'll have to remove the old kernel images next time I'm running out of space, if I can't find any other solution. Thanks for your help.

Thank you. That freed more than 5 GiB, according to the program. It should last for a while. Still, the partition's total size is only 13.97 GiB, so I'd like to find a way to expand it.

I decided to expand the partition for "/" but I've encountered an issue. I'm using GParted and it won't let me unmount it or modify it. I tried unmounting with the terminal using sudo umount /dev/sda1 but it gives me the following message: "device is busy.(In some cases useful info about processes that use the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))" Any ideas on how to solve it?

I keep getting the message that I have very little disk space remaining. I tried removing some programs I don't use from the list of installed ones, but it won't let me remove anything when I uncheck them. Any ways to get around this?

I'd like some help with a couple issues I've been having recently: 1) I'd like to have a language icon in the menu bar, but I can't find a way to do this. I read that you have to enable "show current input source in the menu bar" (in keyboard settings) but I don't get that option at all. I can only add new input sources to use. My selected keyboard input method system is IBus. 2) Changed the system language recently and since then screenshots are no longer saved automatically to clipboard. Ctrl+Print doesn't work anymore.

Are there any other good alternatives to BleachBit? This program doesn't clean Abrowser by default and it also hangs everytime I run it. It goes down to 0% remaining and then it stays there forever. It also leaves a file in my documents folder that I have to delete from the trash bin with a command.

Thanks but in full screen I am not able to select any of the open applications located in the task bar at the bottom of the screen. I was hoping there was a way to auto-hide the top part of the browser in the same way I can do with the task bar at the bottom, so that I have a full screen view but still able to use the task bar when hovering the cursor over the bottom part.

I'd like to install the latest Anki version. Not from the repository as this would install an older version. I tried to do it by downloading the latest package and using Package Manager to install but it doesn't work. Only the older version shows up when using that program. Maybe I'm missing something, anyone knows?

I am having problems deleting some folders from the trash. I tried restoring them and some of them were restored after many tries but one of them stayed and everytime I click on delete or restore, my laptop gets stuck. These folders I wanted to delete, just appeared in my home folder and have random names (like b67P6zVRpr and pTJevbGvXj). Now I think it was a mistake trying to delete them when I didn't know what they were. They didn't seem to have any content inside though. How do I solve this issue? Can anyone tell me how to restore them and what they are or if I can delete them and how?

Found the solution in another site: Had to type ibus-daemon -d in Terminal to start it. I must have done that when I had it working before, but probably was reset after upgrading Trisquel.

I already have the ibus-anthy package. I checked with synaptic. I installed it when I had the previous version of Trisquel. The problem is that under input sources I don't get the option for Japanese (Anthy). The options I get are: Japanese, Japanese (Dvorak), Japanese (Kana), Japanese (Kana 86), Japanese (Macintosh), Japanese (OADG 109A), Japanese (PC-98xx Series). I tried with normal Japanese and Japanese (Kana) but it doesn't work. I remember having the option for Japanese (Anthy) before the upgrade. What would you recommend for me to do? Uninstall the ibus-anthy package and reinstall again? or am I missing something?

I just upgraded Trisquel to the newest version. Can someone please tell me how to disable this annoying voice describing everything I click on? What is that even good for? I don't understand what the purpose for it is.

My laptop doesn't display some exotic languages. When I visit Wikipedia's page, I cannot see all the available languages. How do I get to see them all? When I used to have Windows, I could see all of them. Do I have to install them using the repository? I can't find any information on how to do this.

The fixes reported on this thread work once but then you always have to do it that way because the Update Manager has never gone back to normal for me. If I start the Update Manager, I get the same screen boaz was showing above.

I haven't had any updates being installed for a while. Last time when the Update Manager popped up, it never finished downloading anything and appeared to be stuck. As I couldn't stop it or even close it, I had to re-start the system. I thought this was a one-off problem but it's happened again today. It says 51 updates have been selected. 27.7 MB will be downloaded but all the options are greyed out and I can't do anything. I waited for more than an hour in case it was slow but it hasn't worked. The cursor just keeps spinning. It is obviously not installing any updates. Any help, please?
