Solved! I upgraded the kernel to 4.15.7-gnu
Now I can suspend safely with the Nvidia card.
I selected the integrated graphics card in BIOS setting and moved the DVI
connector from the Nvidia graphics card to the integrated one. That solved
the problem, although I don't think it is a really convenient solution. I can
handle it, but it is a bit of a hassle to change settings and conn

was lowering my resolution.
Can you try removing the graphics card and suspend it again? Last time I used
trisquel in my low end biosed laptop it is able to suspend though it used an
Intel onboard card.
