I think it's less about appropriateness and more about geography. The
Carnegie is a three-minute walk from the Ed, while Katz's is a ways away on
the Lower East Side. Also, Katz's is noisier (did they use the quieter back
room at the Carnegie?).

the far superior Katz's.
I'd comment on the appropriateness of that choice, but might as well stay
