Will be most interested in your experience. I still am not clear how they
are differentiating between me watching from a hotel TV in a different
state, or from my iPad in a different state (which they say they allow) and
my daughter watching from her own TV in a different state?

[TV orNotTV] Netflix... Location sharing rules hits Canada.

Well, Netflix is rolling out the new rules on password sharing In
Canada and other places.

I'll let you know how it goes. I have one device at a different location
(cottage), plus 2 adult children at their own places. Kinda pisses me off
they want more money for remote users, even though I'm already paying for
the premium package and 4 simultaneous streams.

I may have to rely more on BetaMax.

I was also a fan of @midnight and I’m even a fan of Chris Hardwick. I liked
@midnight for the same reason I liked Lights Out With David Spade. It gave
me a chance to see a bunch of new comedians.
Hardwick’s company helped produce @midnight. It was part of his empire that
included his podcast and Nerdmelt. I wonder if he couldn’t do that at CBS.

*raises hand*

I know I'm in the minority here, but I really enjoyed the original run of
@midnight and was not happy when CC pulled it, so I'm glad to see it coming
back in some form.

I do have concerns that having the show air on CBS will tone down some of
the humor, but I can see the panel remaining heavy on comedians - the
original tried a few episodes with less-comedically-inclined actor types
and the results were not great - although the key concern is going to be
who gets tapped as host. With Hardwick out of the picture (I thought he
got cleared of his accusations, since he was back on AMC, but...*shrug*),
finding someone who can manage the pace of the game and still keep up the
manic energy of a show that described itself as "Jeopardy but with dick
jokes" is going to be critical for the success of the show.

And for what it's worth, #f**kspacekaren.

Our house probably watches Discovery more than HBO. My wife likes anything
“true crime” no matter how poorly produced (and most are poorly produced),
and we both like animal focused documentaries. This week we’ve been
watching “The Zoo” about the behind the scenes world of the San Diego Zoo
and Safari Park.

Reports now suggest that Warner Bros. Discovery is going to keep what is
now called HBO Max and Discovery+ separate.

https://deadline.com/2023/02/warner-bros-discovery-abandons-plan-to-merge-hbo-max-discovery-plus-streaming-1235253134/

Basically it seems that current Discovery+ subscribers are unlikely to pay
the much higher prices that the combined app might charge. Considering
that's now $16, that's quite a jump from $7 for the current ad-free version
of Discovery+.

That doesn't seem to have changed plans to rebrand the service to something
like "Max" (branding experts really are good aren't they? Case in point
"Paramount+ with Showtime"), but I guess the higher priced tier could still
include Discovery+ programming in it as well.

Over here in the UK, Discovery+ has been going around doing deals to bundle
themselves with other platforms. In the last few weeks I've gained two
different ways to get the app free. My TV comes via a Sky dish (these days
owned by Comcast), and because I get the Entertainment package it's
included there. I also subscribe to BT Sport and they recently got into bed
with Discovery, so they too have offered it to me free. I duly created an
account and aside from cycling, which I already had access to two other
subscriptions, there really is nothing of interest on the platform.

He was 83.

Lorne has said that when he came to New York in 1974 for the meetings that

the show, and when he said no, he was told "Go see 'Candide' on Broadway."
He did, and soon hired Eugene, the show's set designer, to design SNL's
