I don't have an answer for you, but the recent Netflix deals with cable
companies for streaming bandwidth make me think you hypothesis deserves some
investigation.

Netflix life is dealing with such things. But it was a bit odd, given that
the new 24 Miniseries is starting soon, and a big part of Netflix' business
