The Golden Globes, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter are all owned by
Pennske Media so it’s now a closed circle: The magazines hype the awards
and the awards show, and the awards show provides content for the
magazines. Whatever anyone thinks about the awards outside of that is
irrelevant.

As I've said in other venues, any show that is relying on Farrell and Wiig
to bring the funny is screwed to begin with.

Martin Scorsese and Meryl Streep show up because they want their movies to
be seen and enjoyed, which also makes them more money
Frankly, given what is now common knowledge about what a scam the Golden
Globes are and the lack of character of the people who select them, I’m
more than a little annoyed by people I generally respect who participated
in the show again this week.

I was out last night going to see Second City for the first time in years
(pretty good show), so I didn't watch or record the Globes. Would I assume
that they tried to lean heavily on the laugh track to try to cover up Koy's
lack of crowd response? It's no secret that the awards shows sweeten
I do wish Koy had asked for and taken my advice; he would have been better
off skipping this gig. I don’t think his set went over well. Not really his
fault - they didn’t give him much time to prepare, and he did not have the
status to really kid around with big stars. The audience looked like
Koy gets his V interview:

CBS, since the strategy of a relatively-unknown standup hosting worked so
well last time (in case you forgot, Jarrod Carmichael tore the Hollywood
Foreign Press Association a new one for their many years of improprieties
