I found out by using the TWI search api to search some non-english
search terms like http://search.twitter.com/search.atom?q=手機 I only
got few resutls(about 23) returned. Is this because not many people
using non-english words in TWI or TWI search API has some limitation

We're getting the same problem in our test environments, we're also

Just some dynamic magic to make your users experience better, it's not
actually getting the count from the server, that thing takes longer to

the issue is still happening... You could check it at http://metaki.com
Some times the search api query with geo params returns tweets with
the lat lon of the BIO and not the lat lon of the tweet!!!
You may check this problem for example in Santiago de Chile, or in
Buenos Aires.

Have you looked at Topsy's search API? As far as I know, that's the
only publicly available tool that indexes tweets further back than
Twitter.

The search will only let you go back approximately 5 days. It is not
intended to be a long-time search.
There are some services on the web which have stored all tweets of the
past few years - you may like to use that kind of services instead of
the Twitter Search API.

I am not a techie unfortunately and my Twitter Tools plugin on
Wordpress does not post anymore. The info I get on how to fix it seems
also to be outdated.
What do I do now?
or is there another WP plugin I can use to automatically tweet my blog

Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I'm working on a final year project at university which incorporates
Twitter as its primary data repository. After looking through the API
it seems that search queries are capped to 1500 posts: "Clients may
request up to 1,500 statuses via the page and rpp parameters for the
search method."

So, they shouldn't provide any kind of score to the outside world via
the web or API, but they could use it to provide an "indicator" for a
clean account.
