If and only if * OpenSSL cannot get certificate issuer locally then OS X
security API will * verify the certificate, using Trust Evaluation Agent. This
may freeze/block the application upon SSL handshake for several seconds, it is
not an ICS issue.

Don't really need the whole protocol, just sufficient commands to read
email.
It seems Goggle Mail has a limit to the number of items that POP3 will
return, while IMAP4 returns the whole mailbox.

deleting it acts as set in settings of Gmail account (usually marks message
as read).
