Re: [twsocket] Straw poll - Should ICS continue to support old OpenSSL versions?
OK, thanks everyone that replied. The consensus is it's too early to drop support for 1.0.2 so it will remain for now, and we can review again in several months time. Adding conditional defines can save some space by not building redundant code, but does complicate ICS significantly since there would probably be 50 or more conditional blocks needed and it means testing two versions instead of one so is a long term issue as well. So it was either no old code, or leave it in, which was the reason for this poll. I think it we can, within reason, have support for the current version, and the one prior to it, then that would be good - since as you noted a new release may encounter anomalies... Perhaps once the current release is 12 months old, then only it need be supported??? Re: [twsocket] Straw poll - Should ICS continue to support
Francois I know my suggestion is going to be more work for you, although I don't think to much. Could you put 'Conditional_Defines' around the depreciated code and let the developers determine which ones they want to use. I would only do this for a very limited number of options, if it makes sense at all Mark Moss -- To unsubscribe or change your settings for TWSocket mailing list please goto http://lists.elists.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/twsocket Visit our website at http://www.overbyte.be

It is probably safer to keep 1.0.2 available until 1.1.0 has proven his reliability.
