Hi Simon
Position unchanged on this series: adding fake dts for boards that generate
their device tree in the dts directory is not good. If you have them in
documentation the it is acceptable.

Hi
If you use the second argument to indicate the location of the initrd then
Linux will use device tree information to get the size of the initrd. That
information is probably absent or incorrect.
The initrd= in your command line is thus useless as you task U-boot to load
it.
You may want to
Hi
Did you get an answer I missed ?
There’s active discussion on DTB lifecycle.

Hi
You can find work in progress here too:
http://releases.linaro.org/components/ledge/rp-0.2/ledge-multi-armv8/
For aarch64 there are virt and sbsa-ref machines. Virt is essentially to
boot a VM while sbsa-ref is a reference platform that mimics all required
hardware, firmware for the secure

Hi Simon
This is making a clean environment go in the wrong direction. I have
witnessed that bus to mmio changed for instance, have seen patches to patch
live u-boot embedded DT because it does not do the work that Videocore
does.
The Videocore handles that properly so why adding this?

Hi Simon
It’s even in the title!
The idea of having a DT in dts for ALL boards is not properly rooted. You
may add some sample dts with warnings in the doc tree though.

Hi Simon
The only place I could agree with this file presence is in the
documentation directory, not in dts. It creates a mental picture for the
reader an entirely bad mind scheme around Qemu and DT.
And even in a documentation directory I would place a bug warning: don’t
use this with any
