We had to do mode a while back (common sale quantity) and I ended up not
finding anything and writing my own.
Thanks,

Hi All,
I am using uniobjects to connect to Unidata (6.0) from a web page.
To properly secure it, I would like to be able to set up an account that
would only have access to certain files and only certain fields in those
files. Is there any way to do this? Has anyone done anything similar?
John,
You cannot really restrict access to individual fields within a file other
than at the dictionary (enquiry) level.
What you can do, is to:
create a new account
create local dictionary files in that account (using the same names as the
live files you need)
copy the live dictionary
Excellent. Thanks Brian!

I have tried reading the manual. How can I set up access to a network
printer under UV 10 with Linux Redhat 9.0. From the Linux shell I can
successfully print, but from UV all I get is the following message every
minute or so...
Unable to open device. Verify that the printer is on line...
I'm trying to install the Easysoft ODBC-ODBC-Bridge on an AIX system.
Has anyone done this?
When I define LIBPATH with the Easysoft libraries, for the Easysoft tests to
work, UniData won't run.

Hello,
I've encountered this message when doing a PORT.STATUS
on version 9.4 of UV running on HP-UX 11.0.
Unable to locate uniVerse user data area in kernel.
How do I get PORT.STATUS to work again ? Is the
kernel compiled with insufficient memory ?
Marc,
I hope this comes out formatted so that you can read it. If not, I will try
again for you. Email me direct and I will send it as an attachment.
Here's what I do;
First set up a printer in Linux - network, serial, whatever kind you want -
it doesnt matter. In your case, I guess it is

$ LIBPATH='$LIBPATH:/usr/local/easysoft/lib:
Try doing echo $LIBPATH before and after setting it. I think that you
will see your problem.
Single quotes, in most shells I know, prevent variable expansion. If
you don't know what I mean, you will after you do the echo's.

Unless that's all you need, I'd export the raw data to Excel.
