Hi Jerry,
Actually, I know about multi-data files too... I used to use them on Pick
R83, to simulate what Universe later implemented much more cleanly as
distributed files.
Part numbers dont have to be sequential and dont have to start at 1 ( I
didnt know that until I was told quite
Hi,
I'm currently on the way to setup a replication procedure from a

I read in the doc that files with triggers don't support the replication !!
Is there someone with experience with triggers and replication and if yes,
what
Hi,

I read in the doc that CLEARFILE statement is not supported on replication

Is the solution to rewrite the CLEARFILE like this :
OPEN file to F.FILE ELSE STOP
Hi Charles,
I am an old pickie, but you're right in saying that I am not familiar with
the Multiple data files construct in Universe. I have used multiple
data files in Pick, but that was very simple concept. This on the other
hand, looks a bit contrived, but I can see what it's trying to
Hi,

When the service publisher and the servce subscriber are started,
there is two method to publilsh/subscribe a file.
1 - use unidamin GUI
2 - use new verb REPPUBLIST

We need to provide currency translation in the near future, and
eventually content localization.
If someone has some links to read, or documents it would give us a leg

I'm sure some of you
Replication does not mirror data - it only updates data -
I hear it working with Unix and RFS - with WNT there are still some
issue being worked out? What are you on?

I have no experience with Dynamic Connect, but I have setup a variety
of terminal emulators to work with SB+. The first thing is to
configure the page 1 stuff properly, terminal type, width, and depth
first. Then the next big thing is to figure out what F3 is sending
and get that key mapped.
Bill, what do you mean by:
The SB source code may need to be tweaked in order to run with DC.
Consider sending over sample code.

If so, what issues did you have with regarding to:
a) telnet or ssh connectivity
b) samba
That's true - we're using unidata, but I was under the impression that
these products were the same engines on both systems...

Bill, the problem is that everything we do is very SB-dependent. It is not
just the screens. We download accounting files to the client PC using the
SB file transfer subroutine calls, we email invoices using the SB calls to
the TU.MAPI logic, etc. However, your point about the correct
I was using SB on Epicor's Avante four years ago.
I do not remember if there are include files or calls from UniBasic source
code that are only pertinent to SB.

There are includes that apply only to GUI, but if you're not using GUI
they don't hurt anything that I am aware ofr.

This is a subject near and dear to my heart.
I have worked closely with the folks behind both Dynamic Connect and
Accuterm to create usable terminal definitions when using SB+ in Character
mode.
Neither can be used with SB+ in SB's own GUI mode, although you can do some
stuff with the GUI
Do you mean something like National Language Support (NLS)
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/25119180.pdf
With NLS mode enabled, you can use UniVerse in various languages and
countries. You can do the following:
- Input data in many character sets (dependent on your local keyboard)
-
I use Dynamic Connect in preference to SBClient. I have NO issues with it
using it against SB+/UV in VT220 mode.
It is less powerful than say, bNettermb (another well-loved emulator I have
used) but it is free and quite serviceable for the price!
As others have mentioned, it wonbt do SB+
I'm running UD 7.1 on Windows 2003 and am trying to use the ON.ABORT command
to prevent user access to ECL. According to the UD Commands Reference

The ECL ON.ABORT command identifies a command that UniData executes when a
UniBasic program aborts. command may be an ECL command, a
