George, We converted to a sun VE880 over the summer. We went from two 11
year old DG/UX 9500's to one server. We also went from unidata 5.1.4 to
6.1.4. The sun server we migrated to was not the latest version. It has 4
sunsparc 900 MHZ processors and the latest equivalent is shipped with 4
Most of our clients are on sun fires, e8000 etc running unidata -
works fine. Clients are java for web or VB for desktop but they
connect through our own proprietry method rather than objects,jdbc
etc.

Anyone care to comment on their experience running unidata on Sun boxes
(AMD or Sparc).
If so are you using java or .Net on the client side.
