Call 800-729-3553 (U2 Support phone number) and tell them you have a down
system. U2 support is staffed 24X7 for stuff like this.

Dana,
Dumb suggestion, perhaps, but could you temporarily install UD on a separate
server, to get the udtconfig file? Then uninstall the UD on the second
server, so you aren't in violation of the license agreement.

reinstalling is simple. If you have your $UDTHOME directory - just tar down
the tape and run updatesys
builds a default udtconfig. May need to be tuned for your user count, etc

From the same Robin Williams blurb...
I changed the CHOO-CHOO command on our old Reality spirit system
to say Reality..What a concept!
The Choo-Choo command in reality would print out an ASCII picture
of a steam engine train.

you could use the GRAND-TOTAL clause (in ECL-TYPE P only, according to the
manual) to force that final total line onto a seperate page, i.e.
SORT BY FCURR.CD BREAK-ON FCURR.CD TOTAL INV.AMT GRAND-TOTAL 'P'
and then throw the offending page away. sorry I can't think of any better
alternative
Peter,
I didn't find any grand total suppress keywords available on
our UniVerse system, UD may have one.
But if all else fails, try
GRAND.TOTAL 'P'
That will make the grand total blurb print on the next page to
be thrown away.

Ed,
I have been converting these PROCS to programs, but it's very time
consuming. Plus there are other TOTAL columns that I need to see the grand
total. I guess, I'm looking for a magic option in the TOTAL clause.
Thanks.

Likely what has happened is that the RESIZE set the active resize bits for the
records which were copied to the temp file. The good news is that this is an easy
fix, maybe. At the UNIX prompt run filepeek FILENAME. Then use the rcl command

Hi,
I've just tried something similar on UV/NT with no problems - until I pushed
my external routine (scanning the directory and deleting the files as fast
as UV writes them) into a tight loop that swallowed the processor. Then it
all crawled, of course.
Could there be anything in your C routine

for information repeatedly, but rather waits 1-2 seconds between
polls.
2) Put protections in place that will prevent the receiving program
