1.You do have to create the backup file before launching uvbackup, but
you do not have to create the file containing the screen contents before
hand (if you've chosen that option).
2. Using the DOS command as documented (without the START command),
uvbackup works, but it displ

DOS /C pathname does actually establish a new shell; the /C switch specifies to
return once that shell closes.
You could perhaps use DOS /C "start pathname"
