Just a question. I'm wondering what the IBM UO.Net pooling provides over
using MS Enterprise Services pooling with UO.Net? The MS pooling
component is built into the Windows OS (Enterprise Services for .Net aka
Component Services). The IBM option seems to be expensive as far as

Yes. We are using UO.NET (from UniData 7.1) with C# and ASP.NET on the

So far we haven't noticed any problems that are specific to version 2.0
in regards to UO.NET.

Just install the "uniobjects" SDK off the client cd. Once you do
that, uniobjects will be in the c:\ibm\uniDK\uonet folder. You must
make sure that you have a version of UniVerse that includes the .Net
version. I think that was 10X and above.

I have heard from IBM that connection pooling is there, they are just

As well as saying that UD 6.1 is required, the manual says at one point...
"Note: Compression is not available when connecting to servers running a
version of UniVerse earlier than Release 9.5."
Does this suggest that this the unirpc server stuff is unchanged and so
UO.NET will actually work with
What about uniVerse (with UO.NET) release date?

Yes, UO.NET becomes a fully managed assembly. It will make deployment a bit
easier because there is a .msm merge module. If you should/shouldn't hold
off depends on what is important to you. I like not having to register com
objects, need another separate install procedure, etc., but you might n

Not that I see in the beta documentation.
It may not matter that much depending on exactly what you want to do. It is
really easy to get U2 data and easily put it into an ADO.NET dataset
(especially if you use the U2 XML support - ~6 line
