Anthony I'd be very surprised if the DevCom code was created that way.
My understanding, and I'm willing to be corrected, was that the DevCom code was

As a Pick-*like* implementation.
Which if
Anthony that's wrong my friend.
The lawsuit was a look and feel type lawsuit
Also, I do not think the DevCom group had anything to do with GIRLS at all.

I have a customer who just got a Canon ir-4025 copier/printer/everythingelse.
Unable to find a linux driver I downloaded a product called BrightQPro which
allowed me to install the printer on the redhat system. I can print using
lp or lpr, I can print web pages and from Office, but UniVerse
One of my customers has this same printer setup on RHES5. I am using the HP PCL
4/5 driver and printing to port 9100. Shared it using Samba. I did use webmin
to do all the setup tho.

Have you set the printer up in Universe?
You will need to set up a printer with a universe driver script directing
output to the RHEL printer.

UniVerse admin guide details printing options.
Using the admin tools won't setup remote network interfaces by default.
Hence, in unix you need to write/use the a UV spooler driver Unix script
interface.
