Hello..
When resizing UD dynamic files with the memresize command... it doesn't use
TMPPATH variable, which a resize on a static file does.
This is confirmed in the UD Command Reference
TMPPATH pathname
The path where UniData locates a working copy of the file during resizing.
The default is
I think @LOGNAME comes from windows which appears to cache it. We found
after changing the user names a reboot of the server was required to
bring in the updated name. We also have a .bat file which does an: ECHO
%USERNAME% but I don't recall which it returned.
For us the reboot was the easiest
Yeah, I was wondering about PTY thingy (I think discussion subject was
who am I wIntegrate or something...).
Our dumb terminals are connected to the DEC Terminal server, which start
telnet connection to the UniData host. So in our environment, all our
interactive users use pty.
I've never used
Hello.
This is an irritation for us as well. Unidata resizes a dynamic
file in the directory that it also resides, causing you to need alot of
space to resize. TMPPATH would be nice or if it defaulted to whatever TMP
is in udtconfig you can change the TMP path and stop and start

I have some Tfile fields in the DB. I can select them using the LIST
command but I am having trouble to do so with SQL SELECT command.
How to select the fields with SQL Select?
Thanks,
TA

Subject: [U2] Resize VOC
Hi all,
UV 10 on HPUX
Can someone tell me how to resize the VOC?
I've never needed to do this
If I remember correctly the best way is to resize the VOC from a UNIX script
(assuming UNIX). When the script exits you should be able to start up
Unidata with no problem. If you are in UniData and resize the VOC it
apparently causes issues.
I would assume the same issue is available with
Scott,
My favorite way to resize a VOC is via a pointer from another account.
Say the VOC is in account A:
Logto account B
SETFILE /.../.../A/VOC A_VOC OVERWRITING
Make sure everyone is out of account A and you have a backup!
RESIZE A_VOC type mod sep

No issues - just an oddity: If your resize your own VOC from inside an
account (memrezize in UniData as well remember) then you will get spurious
errors when you try to use verbs immediately afterwards (file structure
changed in flight.
General rules:
1.. You and ONLY You in the account
2..
