Guys If you prefer a forum interface, this list is also available through gmane and nabble. Just follow the link on the website. Incidentally, I subscribe to the jBase group on Google, and find the overquoting and lack of immediacy are a real pain compared to the directness of this list.

I would think that's more of an O/S process scheduling question than a Universe question. What O/S are you asking about? IIRC on *nix each user session is a user process that accesses a shared heap, so it will be scheduled accordingly. If the O/S is running a balanced load then each processer

I don't reply often, but thought my two bits might be worth something. Some of us prefer push (email) Some of us prefer pull (forum) Some of us have no choice other than push as some IT departments block Internet access, but not email. Personally, I prefer push, but could live with pull.
