But Symeon. You dislike email lists I dislike forums.
I guess this perennial topic is due again.

There are forums on the u2ug website if you want to use them. If you
changed this list into a forum that would be just one more site my
employer would ban us from so you would loose several people from here.
We're not allowed to surf the net all day at work. Email they won't stop

Before setting up your own I think you should probably check out how
well the existing forums are doing. Evidently they are alive and well
but strange that I hardly ever get a posting sent to me from there.

Guys
If you prefer a forum interface, this list is also available through gmane
and nabble.
Just follow the link on the website.
Incidentally, I subscribe to the jBase group on Google, and find the
overquoting and lack of immediacy are a real pain compared to the directness
of this list.
Also, if you subscribe to any of the U2UG forums, you'll get new posts to
that forum emailed to you. Laura- Original Message -

I couldn't find anything on the IBM web site, so I'll ask the next batch

multiple processors on a server? Any difference - from a Universe

I would think that's more of an O/S process scheduling question than a
Universe question. What O/S are you asking about? IIRC on *nix each user
session is a user process that accesses a shared heap, so it will be
scheduled accordingly. If the O/S is running a balanced load then each

Some of us prefer pull (forum)
Some of us have no choice other than push as some IT departments block Internet

Personally, I prefer push, but could live with pull.

Dave,
as far as I'm aware UV uses a process model for load balancing.
This would mean that multiple processors will reduce CPU contention if
you run multiple UV processes at the same time (assuming that the
operating system allocates them to different CPUs).
However multiple processors will
