[U2] Unidata 7.2.3 and Windows auth

2010-10-15 Thread Jeffrey Butera

I've got a client running unidata 7.2.3 on Windows 2003.
In short, they're trying to swap to a new Domain Controller, but
everytime they do this Unidata logins fail.

They keep telling me that Unidata must have some internal configuration
re: which DC to contact. I claim no, it's just using the underlying OS
to authenticate the users and I think they haven't got the server
configured correctly.

Can anyone confirm this or indicate where I'm wrong... Many of you know
I'm a *nix guy so I surely don't have the definitive answer for this.

2010-10-15 Thread Colin Alfke
Have a user logon to the UniData server (directly on the console) when the
new DC is running. Since users need the same permissions to logon to the
console as to login to UniData you can tell if it's a security or UniData
issue. My guess is that they are in a group that is used to give them
permissions that isn't getting authenticated with the new DC.

Good luck

For anyone concerned about inability to post images, code, or
other files to forums: There are any number of free services
available where you can post pictures (or files of any kind) and
then just provide a link in email and forums.

In this case I'd guess that Doug would rather have a closer
contact with anyone wanting to use his software.

Hi Tony:

Nice to see you cannot let anything go. Still holding on to the
ex-girlfriend's picture?

I think we are all smart enough to know that we should go to the web site if
we what more information. I think we also know what links are and where we
can post additional information. I think that those of you who are have
problems with U2logic software, whether installation help or general
support, know how to get hold of our staff. I received a support call
around 6 am this morning. I think everybody knows how to find us.

Sometimes in life you have to let things go and not put your 2 cents in,

WTF was that about? I was responding to what was presented as a
technical problem.

This list service does not allow attachments and is in
 plain text.

The next time you want people to contact you, just say so, don't
make excuses that make you sound technically inept - and don't
get huffy if someone posts a solution to a problem that you've
presented.

Are you still sore because some years ago I gave you grief about
baiting people with freeware and then changing your model to
buyware after people started using it? Really man, that was a
long time ago. Let it go.
