Aborting UniVerse.
I am running 10.1.3 on Windows and the backup was done on a 10.1.something
on AIX.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Jay

] Uvbackup to disk
This works with different operating systems right? If you wanted to move the
database from say Solaris to Linux or visa-versa?

Dan,
I use the following command to create .BAK files from uvbackup:
uvbackup -f -b 1024 -l backup set label -s uvbackup.log -cmdfil
files.cmdfil -notag backupset.bak
Hope this helps,
Jay

I have experienced this same need in the past and found it to be much
cheaper to upgrade Universe to a newer version with as few licenses as
possible. In my case, I know the data structure and just maintain a copy of
the data without the application. If you have the source code for the
application
Dan,
I haven't found any additional documentation but I have come across a
serious gotcha. Once you add a trigger to a file it is a SQL file. There is
no going back short of creating a new table. This makes it difficult to move
data between INDIAN's (sp?). I have been unable, even using
I used the pseudo-trigger method in UV 9.6. Although you cannot tell a
DELETE during the trigger firing I did determine the DELETE status during
log file processing by doing a read of the file. If no record was found I
new it was a deleted record.

dropping the triggers won't work.
All you can do is to create a new file on the source machine and copy
the data to it and then port that one over instead.

I have some data files that I can't run fnuxi on because they have triggers.
How do I successfully move these files between *NIX and Windows without
having to drop the triggers?

I have a need to put a trigger on a couple of Universe files that have names
that are causing a problem. I'd like to know if there is a good work around.
The first file is a reserved work in SQL (AUTHORIZATION) and the other
contains a dash (STATE-FILE).
I thought of naming the files something
