[U2] [UV/Redback] Daylight Saving

2006-12-05 Thread Womack, Adrian
I'm in Perth WA, and we're on Daylight Saving for the fist time in years
(as of 2am Dec 2nd). This has caused all kinds of problems, as it was a
last minute decision by the government and we had hardly any time to get
the various config files setup correctly.

We're running UniVerse 10.0.19 (PI/Open flavour) in HPUX. We updated the
appropriate config files and rebooted the Unix boxes last week. Unix
Universe both clicked over successfully to use the WDT (Wester
Daylight time) timezone instead of WST (Western Standard Time). And
both Unix Universe are returning the correct time.

BUT, our single redback process, which calls Universe routines to update
files with some data derived from TIME(), is still returning the WDT
time (i.e. 1 hour earlier).

We've restarted redback (using restartrgw, I've also tried stoprgw
followed by startrgw), and this made no difference.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
AdrianW

Adrian,

In $RBHOME/rgw/conf there is a file called rgwresp.ini one of the sections in
there is [Default.Environment] you need to set TZ to the appropriate timezone
setting.

AW: [SPAM] - RE: [U2] [UV/Redback] Daylight Saving - Bayesian Filter detected spam

2006-12-05 Thread Babic Marinko
Could you check the VOC LOGIN Entry of your Redback Account:

0001 PQ
0002 HDATE.FORMAT ON
0003 P
0004 C
0005 HWW.SB.RB
0006 P

There is also an VOC entry with the specific Account name.

On the line 0002 is the DATE.FORMAT UniVerse Command (see UniVerse
documentation).

Kind regards,

Marinko

I'll remind our colleagues that I've setup a blog category specifically
about Time, but a sub-context is regarding how to change *nix and MV
environments to adapt to time changes. If someone would like to write up
specific notes about such things for HPUX (which Adrian has), RedBack, or
other specific products, then I'll be happy to post them to my blog for the
benefit of others. I'm not personally qualified to write-up the notes we
see here on RedBack, for example. Since this can be a cumbersome and often
site-specific configuration matter, I'll also post leads to consultants who
provide information or services to do this sort of specialty configuration.
Brian Coles specializes in AIX and was the first engineer/consultant who
has provided this sort of information for the benefit of others.
