Re: [U2] U2 accounting software question
A few years back a company I worked for had dealings with Stamina (and Ross directly). We interfaced to the Visage GL - all worked well and support/development requirements were always met. I have had no direct dealings with the product since and have no business relationship with Stamina but I will recommend them for the services they provided 'back in the day'. From the odd word around town in Australia the product is still alive and well. Worth considering. Thanks, John and Bradley. The MAS 90 Wikipedia page says the software primarily targets the wholesale distribution industry, so it's definitely a good fit in that regard. The Sage site says that MAS 90 and MAS 200 have been consolidated into a product called Sage ERP 100, though. Looks like you can still get individual modules a-la-cart and the cloud offering also looks interesting. I'll check into it. Last I heard, the SQL server version wasn't ready for prime time yet. I'd definitely check on that if you decide to pursue MAS 90. And, yes, you need a good consultant. I don't believe Sage sells direct. The trick is finding a decent consultant that knows what he's doing. I hear more recent versions run on top of MS SQL Server, although ours does not, and its quite a chunk of change to get the upgrade. Re: [U2] U2 accounting software question
Correct. Technically we have 2 general ledgers, but the UV GL doesn't have much in the way of reporting. I guess someone made the decision at some point to add-on the FMS package instead of writing reports in-house, but that was before my time (prior to 1989). -John -Original Message- From: u2-users-boun...@listserver.u2ug.org [mailto:u2-users-boun...@listserver.u2ug.org] On Behalf Of Wjhonson Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2012 2:26 PM To: u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org Subject: Re: [U2] U2 accounting software question If you only *used* to have a Pick general ledger, than why are you exporting UV GL data every night? Thanks, Doug. We have replaced Quickbooks, Microsoft's SMB accounting package at various clients. We have even replaced PROMAN and other PICK accounting systems. Built-in is document management for storing purchase orders, vendor contracts, invoices and anything else you can think of. This is a 100% web based package that is flexible, easy to use and affordable. Re: [U2] U2 accounting software question
If you're game and want to dip your toe in the cloud... http://www.saasu.com/ This is a complete and functional accounting system for an SMB, really just what we would have called a bureau system in the olden days. There is a free trial and the cost, if you go live with it, is very good.
