Following a HASH.HELP and then a RESIZE on a number of files... it is likely
that a bigger disk drive will be needed.

FAST can use all the backend scripting features of any *nix system,
so it is not reliant on the VBA client.

As a long-time user I can assure you that Fast is an easy-to-use and reliable
file resizing utility.
I do manually resize files, but I use Fast also.
I rarely resize large dynamic files.

Is anyone using XLr8Resizer from U2 Logic? If so, what are your experiences
with it?

I would never use HASH.HELP on a file, there are known problems with it.
Examples are not providing a prime modulus, and calculating the wrong file time.
I have used FAST for many years, and now recommend it to our customers. It is

Maybe I am going back to my Prime INFORMATION days, but I thought there was

We have our login VOC run a basic program, like:
BEER = @WHO : ':'
ASSIGN 1 TO SYSTEM(4001)
ASSIGN BEER TO SYSTEM(4002)
This yields a TCL prompt with the account name followed by a colon, active
select list gets two colons.

If Universe, check out UV.PROMPT command.

Here's what we use, but, apparently, SYSTEM(4001) is undocumented.
BEGIN CASE
CASE AT.WHO = 'TEST'
AT.WHO = 'tst'
CASE AT.WHO = 'TEST2'
AT.WHO = 'tst2'
CASE AT.WHO = 'DEAL'
AT.WHO = 'deal'
CASE AT.WHO = 'FIN'
P.S. to P.S.
Has anyone done a comparison of FAST to XLr8Resizer (other than cost?)

I know this could be done in Universe but I'm pretty sure it cannot be
done in Unidata. I think it had to do with the amount of space in
memory that is allocated to the prompt "character" (singular). It's
been quite a long time ago that looked into this, though.
