thanks for the heads up! although i make recreations of vintage guitar tube amplifiers it never occurred to me to pop open a monitor and look for bad caps the number one problem with vintage tube amps are the electrolytic caps in the power filter section. the electrolyte drys up (or oozes out) and starts leaking DC into the AC section of the circuit. i have one out in my shop right now that i'm gonna open up tonight!
