I have a couple of 900 APs running on v 6.2.0 running fine, but not until I
disabled WPA2. If you check the radio log you will find that the with WPA2
enabled the stations are forced to re-authorize hourly or daily (can't
remember which) and occasionally they don't.

The original model needs the unlock code for the UNII, the newer, Gen2,
comes activated. They work fine for short shots 3/4 of mile or less:
anything longer move to the PowerBeams. The LBE's work much better then
the NBE's that have a funky antenna pattern.

You can buy 400 horns from the Ubnt Store, qty. of 5 at $75 each. But, no
300's or 620"s. I asked Collin at Streakwave and he said he thought the
minimum order for any of them was 200, so they don't stock them. Guess
Ubnt wants it to be worth there time to make them up.

AirControl2 2.0.3 is found on Ubnt.com,
Support>Downloads>AirMax>Utilities. Your have choices of Linux or
Windows10 Servers and Clients and Mac Clients. I found our 900 radios on
5.6.9, but not the one on 6.0.4, but I was able to add the device manually
using v 2.0.2.

AirFibers do not fit the RD-5G30 mount, but a velcro strap works just fine.
Ubiquiti makes a conversion kit for the RD-5G30 to make it a slant 45
orientation. Not sure of the AC dish as I haven't put an AirFiber on one

NBE-5AC-19's expecting an Rx of around -55. After connecting the link the
best we could get was a -66 on Chain0 and a -77 on Chain1 when the radios
were at the proper tilt and azimuth. With help from the Alignment Tool
I think it is enabled for the Prism, but not the older PTMP model.

Yep, that sounds about right. We start using 500 and 620 at 1.5 miles in
order to get to -55. And, yes 400's seem to be extinct.

Steve, If you are contemplating replacing your M5 radios with AC radio of
the same antenna gain you may want to consider that you need another 10 dB
of gain with the AC's for full modulation, -65dB is required for AC rather
then the -75 required for M5. Also, another consideration is the
Yes.

The CPU Clock speed in the M radios is 390 MHz, the half harmonic of the
780 MHz LTE radios. The firmware changes the clock speed to 400. You can
get the firmware from Ubnt support. Just send a request and you will have
it in about 20 minutes.

The Prism has a different case, metal rather then plastic, and a GPS
connector. On the interface Dashboard page and System page the Device
Model is listed as R5AC-Prism, rather then R5AC-PTMP (or PTP).

Haven't seen anything like that, but the closest weather radar to our
location is 50 miles away. With that kind of signal you could try 5200GHz
and get away from the noisy 57/5800 band.

Don't know how the 5AC's compare to the M5's as we are replacing 2.4 AP's,
but we are getting a pretty solid 90 to 100 Mbps through the 5AC links
using a 20 Mhz channel width. We are using beta firmware, the 8.xx series,
and have not had any problems with that as well since the early releases.
Do the PowerBeam AC's have airPrism? Doesn't say so on the Spec Sheet, but
it would be useful for PtP backbone links.

AirCRM is the replacement for AirControl. it is curently in beta and your
radios need to be running v5.6-cl-beta6-prod.25433 firmware to add the
capability of the UB radios to contact the AirCRM cloud.

We have one at 12.5 miles and it reports Rx Capacity at 213 Mbps, but I
don't know what that translate to reality. That is a 50 MHz channel width
at 5800 MHz with signal levels around -65 and a noise level of about -92.
We are having difficulty maintaining that 213, it wants to switch back and
Is this radio DFS channel ready now? I know it has been discussed, but
with all the new PowerBeam radio's I am confused.

I'm replacing 5.8 links with 3.65 links to make room in the 5.8 band.
We don't get a lot a Apache's around here, mostly NMNG Blackhawk's with
