[Ubnt_users] UniFi Service for home users

2015-01-09 Thread heith
So we have been installing a few UniFi devices, as tests, in some of our
customers houses. Mostly due to size of their structure, multiple and
varying devices and streaming devices where our basic routers just weren't
cutting it. Its about time to charge these customers. We have been
installing them to our cloud controller for management in cases where we
wouldn't need an onsite controller.

Questions is for others doing the same thing, what do you do for charging?
Do you charge for the equipment a one time fee plus install if applicable,
or a small one time fee and a monthly rental or management fee? I would like
to market the hell out of these for our higher end customers, but I want to
make sure we make some money. I wouldn't mind doing a small monthly
recurring fee on top of their service fee for monthly internet service. If
they drop the service I just get our gear back. I suppose depending on how
many devices the needed, maybe a small upfront fee for each device, theres
really not much additional cost for management of several devices

I appreciate any input

Thanks

A few years back I purchased a set of antennas to use on Rocket M5 radios. We
had a link that used a set of M5 Power Bridges that we needed to replace, but
the structure wouldn’t support a Rocket Dish. We ordered a set of panel MIMO
antennas and used Rocket M5 radios on it. I want to say it was an ARC wireless
antenna, but I bought it from a distributor and cant find what I did (bad
record keeping). Anyways they worked out well with awesome signal, but the
adjustment was via a ball joint that was fairly unstable. I had a rocket M5
fail on one these panels yesterday in this shitty weather and the panel was
flopping in the wind. It was too windy or intolerable to try to pull off any
part numbers but I don’t want to order another one of these again.

Anyways if anyone has used a MIMO panel on a Rocket that has been good and are
happy with it I would like to know

Thanks

Heith

[Ubnt_users] Rocket AC PTP throughput chart?

2015-01-09 Thread Ty Featherling
Is there such a thing? I'm trying to estimate what is possible for a link I
am about to set up. I know this product isn't available in in the online
link planner. A link-planner like the one AF5 has would be super helpful
here.
