Brandon,

Well we celebrated to early. After a set-inform the controller sees the AP as 
connected. Though no data is received and I cannot reboot the ap from the 
controller. After a period of time the AP will miss a heartbeat and then 
disconnect. So we still have an issue here.

This does sound like the same symptoms. Can you confirm this is still occurring 
for you on 1.9.7 or 1.9.7hotfix1 firmware?

As of version 1.9.7 we have made improvements for packet reordering issues for 
all EdgeRouter models including the ER-8-XG. That should help, but we are 
continuing work on this to make sure it is fully resolved from upstream in a 
future firmware.
