incorrectly. 

Mary.had.a.little.lamb.l2ittle.lamb.little.lamb 

That's not 64 or more characters, but that's the type of password you should be 
using if not able to to use random characters via a password manager. Whatever 
phrase floats your boat separated by special characters and a number inserted 
(not substituted) into one or more words.

We increased the max password length in 5.6.1 when the password hashing 
algorithm was changed. Current max length should be 63 characters.

Okay, so two years. 

BTW: The max of 63 is too low as well. Given that it's a hash, the size of the 
input should be irrelevant as only the hash is being stored anyway. I believe 
Unimus has tested with 500 character passwords, though it's not necessarily a 
limit.
