Recently i started working with ubuntu and GRASS, and I noticed that
v.in.lidar is not available without compiling from the scratch (which is a
rather complex process for novel users like me). Following the
recommendation from the user markusN
This has been fixed in Debian.
I'm uploading a new version to ubuntugis.

Recent discussions/breaks in the QGIS/GRASS interactions via the QGIS
GRASS Plugin and QGIS Processing toolbox got me thinking we should
probably clarify the plan/policy for where to put various versions.
Seems based on our old ppa naming:
Stable should get QGIS 2.8.x LTR updates
and GRASS 6.x
I think if stable were to get 2.8.x - there needs to be a better
explanation of stable vs unstable. I've spent more some time convincing
fellow GIS people that unstable (which is usually stable) is what you
want...and stable is out of date (but stable) software. I may be missing
it but I don't
