I had this trouble with the same version on a live copy running from a thumb
drive and on a laptop I had installed it to.
I just went back to 16.4.3.
But I'm glad to see that someone else had that, and it wasn't a corrupt
download or something on my end.

I don't have 17 now, I just wiped the drive and put 16 on it.
I was searching the web for solutions like what you wrote, but all I found
involved editing some conf files and some long commands, and if I had
someone reading them to me, I'd be glad to try them, but sometimes I hate
