I dug out an ubuntu 12 stick, and installed it to my hard drive.
I know it is old, but I will use it to burn a ubuntu mate disk.
But in the mean time, is there a way to back up my whole system, so that if I
like, I could install it, without having to reconfigure everything?

Hello everyone. My hope is to take an image of my computer and system as it

Ubuntu 16.04 is on my computer.
I want to use my ubuntu dvd to install ubuntu to a u s b drive, which has
partitions that would need to be reformatted.
I know that during installing, I would choose, ‘something else’, then go to sdb
to do what I need to prepare this drive.
How may I find out how

Maybe it is the fault of pulse audio.
Is there a way to stop pulse audio from that annoying echo, which makes it hard

In an article I read that one can use mate tweak and choose what layout one

I am running ubuntu 18.04.
I did the following to enable the log in sound that plays after one is logged
in.
Go to Terminal.
cd /usr/share/gnome/autostart
sudo nano libcanberra-login-sound.desktop
Just typing libcan
and then pressing tab should get you there.
Go to the very bottom of the file.
Might I be able to add a beep to boot up so I know ubuntu is starting?

It was installed by flatpak and I did this, thinking if flatpak would be used,

I am using linux mint mate desktop on an experimental basis.
After copying the sound theme, I chose it with sounds.
I raised the alert volume.
After restarting the system, I noticed alert volume for sound effects is still
