I downloaded the fedora live CD to view their effort and found the boot
animation did not display on my nVidia desktop but did display on my
Intel laptop. :/

As some of you may already know, Ubuntu Karmic will get a whole new,
shiny and flicker-free boot experience. Another words, the sequence of
events between switching on your computer and your desktop session will
be largely redeveloped and redesigned.

Wow!! This is very awesome. I am extremely excited about karmic's artwork!
Even the plain-text boot in the pics looks great. Just the clean up and font
change makes it look very nice and professional.
