I like that solution. We could discuss the entire agenda on Wednesday,
write a report on the wiki, and then go over it again on Sunday (with
other people) and add additional information to the report.

Yep, that's what mailing lists are for: asynchronous discussion. And
wikis are for collaborative asynchronous writing. The good news is
that we already have these two tools, we just have to use them
(actually, this is the hardest part).

I'm all in favor of more communication and coordination in Ubuntu-be.
But Before organizing a synchronous IRC/Jabber/IRL event, I think we
should start to define an agenda and address issues that doesn't need
discussion. Or a least, give some material and information to allow
any interested
