There are actually at least three bugs:
1. Beagle crashes, e.g., because of some problem in a filter (can be

know why there are sound related issues.

I think i know now where the problem is!
I saw that when I was configuring my own kernel.
Device Drivers → Multimedia Devices → Video Capture Adapters
the point "Philips SAA7134 DMA audio support" should be turn off,
because if this point is activated; dapper thinks this is an sound card
and set
The problem seems to be NOT firefox itself because I have a separate
firefox installation which works in Breedy without any problems but
causes the same output started in Dapper Drake.
IMHO the problem must be caused by GTK or the x environment

On my system, CD/DVD writer is at /dev/scd0. This device is correctly
created with owner "cdrom", and members of the cdrom group can read from
it. However, k3b (and therefore, I think, cdrecord) also need write
access to the associated scsi_generic

I have given up on the 64 bit version and gone with the 32bit.
I have a feeling that the problem was caused by me attempting to use xfs
for the root partition and ext3 for the /boot partition.
