I don't get it.
Every KDE-packing distro installs KDE Control Center, which handles a
lot of things well including file association. That option is there and
it is so well written that anyone can easily use it. Nonetheless, it
seem that kubuntu wishes to go the other way and use an app of it's
did anyone had time to try this out?

terminal, type nautilus, then you get a new instance of nautilus and

libgnome-java has a build-dependency on libgtk-java which fails to build on
!i386.
libgtk-java depends on those archs still on libgcj7 which makes it
uninstallable.
A fix for the libgtk-java problem exists (bug 59385) but didn't get uploaded

Just an update- the version of xsidplay in Ubuntu Dapper Drake (as of
today) still does not support libsidplay2.
I've managed to re-rebuild it with libsidplay2 support again, and this
time I kept a list of steps.
I admit it's a pretty poor script (and may not even run), but it works
as a list of

Bon Echo beta 2 crashes consistently when opening the GMail Inbox.
Steps:
1) On Edgy Knot 3, update to the new Bon Echo b2 from the repos.
2) Login to a GMail account. As the screen finished painting, BE crashes.

Same here. I have been running edgy for since late July. I tried to
install scribus-ng which depends on python2.3 and the python2.3 package
is broken, as above.
It can't be removed/purged even using dpkg. Here is what i get when
trying to remove it.
$ sudo dpkg -P --force-all python2.3
+1 on the I don't get it. It's slightly counterintuitive to have to
open the browser (I know, also the file manager) to deal with file
associations that are respected outside that umbrella. Call it a
wishlist, but I think it's a legitimate complaint. Please don't reject
it on these grounds.

to deselect it again and go back to the default state. Well, it still
saves my session every time, even if the option is deselected. Besides,
