*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 59244 ***
This issue has been fixed, you can read bug #59244 about it. Marking
that one as duplicated since the other bug has extra details and the
patch whi has been commited
** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu)
Assignee: Sebastien Bacher = Ubuntu
With the fglrx driver not loaded, and with Paul's patches applied, I
have had no crash whatsover: I'm unable to crash my machine.
So, to me, it looks as if (at least in 16 bit mode), paul's patches do
the trick just fine!

Public bug reported:
I have problems to run rhythmbox under xubuntu 6.06 because it is very slow.
Using strace rhythmbox, I get the following output:
(...)
open(/dev/scd0, O_RDWR|O_NONBLOCK|O_EXCL|O_LARGEFILE) = 25
ioctl(25, CDROM_DRIVE_STATUS, 0x7fff) = 2
close(25)
I can confirm the non-working issue with the symlinks in place,
duplicate bug #58259 also confirms that.

XMMS (though if it was playing a file it kept playing).

You can access it's menu by right clicking on the 'grey coloured' area
of the applet.
That would have the options 'Refresh' 'Preferences'. Through
'Prefereces' you can set watch on different stock rates.
I have attached the screenshot.
