Every font, icon and a LOT of other stuff is screwed up, seemingly
chosen on random or falling back to defaults

After clicking away this message it continued a bit. A frequent message in the

or similar - happened for many of the packages. Some packages later there came

the error is not actually with totem... seems to be with mdadm - once
again i lost the log... it disappears when you 'OK' the error dialog
box i did see that the update manager tried to restart mdadm
which threw an error saying mdadm is already running... you might

My Problem dissapeard after I upgraded my BIOS and resetted the
settings, in the process I also upgraded to latest Nvidia Beta 9742. My
problem in planeshift seems gone after an hour and a half of gameplay
(my old problem appared after a few sec/minutes.

I have an strace. There are segfaults in cp, touch and (I think) sudo.
fwiw I had a segfault in cp on OS X Tiger a while ago. My workaround was
to use ditto. Whether it's related, couldn't say.

Well I got the exactly same effect on my laptop: Samsung X20 since kde
3.5.5 (dapper/edgy) ...
It's all working fine in gnome but in kde since 3.5.5 i get this grey
box about the a closed lid.
When having Suspend Option activated first thing that happens on login
is my laptop going to suspend.
If it's a problem again, feel free to continue discussing the issue and
we'll work through it again.

Just adding info:
Numerous other models like Canon PIXMA iP1000, iP1500 are also not in
the list. iP4000 is in the list but the driver doesn't work with iP1000.
The Canon PIXMA range (especially the lower models like ip1000) are
extremely popular and should be supported out-of-the-box by Ubuntu.

2. Close all instances of firefox and open firefox again

I should add that the workaround above does, um, something to the other
problem as well. After using it, it seems it's possible to change to
card without reboot, but not back again. Sometimes it's random:
sometimes the card changes only after playing a couple of files, for
example.

instance with this command:

Then visit a flash page and let us know if it still crashes. If it
