Be careful - while indeed this does seem a fix for this problem, this
script needs a lot more work. Hard coding that fairly arbitrary list of
devices is going to break again for someone with a more obscure device.

Same problem here with SONY VGN-FS415S and Edgy. According to the
workaround at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=275564 , after
starting X, I have to restart X (by Ctrl-Alt-Backspace) to get the
touchpad functionality from Dapper back. This works but is annoying.

I had a similar problem, kpersonalizer starting after each logon and the
accessx pop-up appearing a few minutes after starting kde. Upgrading to
kde 3.5.5 fixed the problem.
If you think it's a permissions error you may want to execute the
