This is apparently a known problem with the Samsung drivers, and has
been for a while. I've found some additional pages that seem to explain
why it occurs, although I think this is still a bug within Ubuntu (in
addition to the drivers), as Debian seems to simply fail rather than

Yesterday I dloaded both live and alternate 0117 builds for X64 and
tested them first in VMware.
The live x64 CD (after doing the debconf thing) hangs during
partitioning. Rebooting the live CD showed that the virtual HD was
partitioned correctly but not formatted (ext3 + swap). The problem must

same bug. Azureus (2.5.0.0 on Ubuntu Feisty) worked for a bit after the

Everytime I load the CPU Frequency Applet, I got an error message saying
CPU Frequency Scaling is not Supported. But manually I can make it work
if I load p4-clockmod module.

gnome-menus is not a .deb, you need to use dpkg -i on the .deb, apt
downloaded it to /var/cache/apt/archives and you can install it from
that directory, you also need to use the -i option to install the deb

As I said, this looks like a duplicate of bug 68020. Please see my
comments there. Most of the errors you see on Azureus startup seem
pretty harmless to me (they are annoying though).
