Yeah, I had a quick look at it. I found it very brief. It didn't really
go into enough detail.
e.g. It stated to simply add the following line to X file. It never
stated to add the stated line at the top or the bottom of the files
contents. It left me confused!

I also got this. I dist-upgraded from Feisty Herd 1 using GUI
completely. It reported it couldn't Firestarter, but when I looked at
the output (it was right at the end) I saw that it had merely failed in
starting it using the init.d script.
I ran firestarter myself by running sudo firestarter,
OK, in that last post, I was a little as well happy. :P

I am going to go ahead and close the bug since you indicate it is no

I agree that this is a bug. My CPU usage is quite high on startup now,

Hey there, I just booted up Herd 3 of 7.04 and I found some Hardware

First: It detects my Onboard Ethernet card just fine but it doesn't load
any drivers for my wireless adapter. But it worked in herd 2 so I wonder

I can confirm this bug is still happening on the following environment,
using the original test case:
- Ubuntu Edgy

/etc/emacs/site-start.d/50php-mode.el
I have attached a patch. ( I think, I am new at sending these to others.

I can confirm that the ark context menu doesn't work with the system:/
kio slave. This kio slave is not used in edgy, but removing those
patches in Feisty is under consideration, so I'm keeping this open.
Other than the specific ark issue, this is a duplicate of bug 32159.

navigation through the kioslave system:/users/ is broken
Tried Feisty Fawn Herd 3 persistent on Thinkpad R31 with built in eth0.
Looks to me like network manager indicated correctly.
I then installed a wireless PCMCIAA card, Trendnet, using ndiswrapper as
indicated in Wiki then disconnected the eth0 wired connection.
I then rebooted.

The permissions are still set wrong in 6.10 - I just downloaded and
installed it, and the printing worked fine on the live CD but not on the
hd install.
I ran into this problem but it was only a permissions issue with lp0.
Took me 1/2 hour of sifting through this and other threads to track it
I'm not really sure this is a solution to the problem that the world is
slow to switch over to IPv6. Ubuntu comes with IPv6 enabled per default.
