Hint: On dapper it works like expected!
On edgy I can't disable automounting for removeable devices. I've tested
it with the following devices: cd-rom, dvd-rom, usb-stick and usb-
harddisk.
As I know, there are three files account for automounting: fstab,
mediamanagerrc and
Mike, I'll likely bet that your display is USB, and you have Brltty
configured to start via the init script etc. Brltty now ships with udev
rules to automatically start brltty if a usb Braille device is found, so
thats probably the second occurrance of brltty accounted for.

When an app is run in superuser mode, via gksu or kdesu, the users
~/.fonts.conf file is not used. If ~/.fonts.conf is copy/linked to

When I try to use Xsane, scanner initializes fine, but when scanning
should start it makes loud cracking noise like trying to move reading
head to wrong direction. This same problem appeared in Dapper and Edgy
with all updates.
I'm quite sure that this could lead to broking
HPLIP is installed and active by default in Ubuntu so that as much
hardware as possible just works.
Unfortunately, the hpfax CUPS backend is not prepared for machines where
no HPLIP daemons are running and perhaps the developers did not test it
on distributions with automatic crash reporting
Don, can you modify the hp and hpfax CUPS backends in a way that they do
not crash on a system without running HPLIP daemons but simply exit
silently?

i use ubuntu 6.06 lts version of linux. I couldn't have found any solution so I
reinstall whole system. It didn't appear after reinstallation and there where
no problem with adding keyboard language support.
