Triggered by the last comment I did a bit more testing and searching the
web and found finally the solution for the problem here:

It was simply the missing package 'smbfs'. After installing it
everything works fine and this bug can finally be
'sudo apt-get install smbfs' solves this issue.

I tried to do it, configure is ok, but gmake says Error :/

The support is not really experimental anymore, it works quite fine with
most Radeon 9500 - X800 cards (not the top performance of course, but

oh, you are using system-config-printer and not gnome-cups-manager,
update the package information to reflect that. The
/usr/share/applications/redhat-system-config-printer.desktop desktop
file uses Icon=cupsprinter.png and doesn't ship that icon

Hello,
it happened exactly after installation of blue ice theme from
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/themes/;. I choose to install this
theme and restart Firefox to apply the change. The result was this
srash.

Here is the deb I created, it is not signed since I am not the
maintainer it only has the above patch applied and the minor version
number for the package bumped. I am attaching this for your convenience
as it probably will take a while before this package gets updated.
