I tested your tweaks to both config files Dan and it's working good for
me. So far Amarok hasn't crashed. If I start to experience excessive

Ok, then you can run 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg'.
Discover-data was updated after Herd5, and seems that you have the old
xorg.conf left. After running that command you should have a proper
setup.

Btw it's a generic bug for all Asus A832 Deluxe so far as i know, SLI
and non SLI, there is another person in the forum that knows 3 or 4 more
cases, all with the same motherboard. I don't know if it affects other
models. I'm using latest bios and it isn't solved, and it was released
at least 6

This is not fixed for me on HP nw8240: after resume from hibernate,
ac_adapter is not properly detected, fan's do not start at all and CPU
temperature quickly goes to 100C if I start some build. Also note that
acpi -t command takes some 5 seconds to report temperatures:

I'm sorry... after un update, a message proposed me to try ubuntu 7.04 about 2
weeks ago.
I accepted, and after downloading all the files the system crashed.
So I'm back now on a brand new kubuntu 6.10, but nothing remains...
Anyway that bug only appened when clicking on that file, and

Thank you for your bug. That's likely an upstream issue. To confirm by
somebody with a similar setup. That might be a duplicate also, there is
some bugs about panel and applets location

Seems rather large to me, but we have approved wine earlier with similar
sized changes I think. Stephan, does the new version fix any reported

well, even rebooting foomatic-gui doesn't start, it asks me for the
admin password but nothing appears. Let me know if i can help you in any

Is it that hard to tell video capture an gfx cards apart ?
Yesterday I experienced a small wonder. I booted a live Cd (not Ubuntu) on the
same PC and :
- it used the correct driver
- it didn't try to make me blind with screen flickering (it used a 70 Hz
vrefresh)

kdm starts usplash when it is terminating.
It should _not_ do that.
