I'm not sure how it is when wake-from-suspend freezes the applications,
but it can't really be a system problem (like ping, which would be

Ok, having a directory which is owned by root (or !you) and has a mode
of 700 (ie. you can't access it) makes it fail. For me it was .aptitude,
all regular files made it prompt an error ("you don't have access to
this file"), so it should do the same for directories too.

The index.theme wrongly has the scalable icons as 48x48 SVGs, but they
are mostly 128.x128 ones. I think bug #56279 may cause this issue.

thing, it's something that is very very very annoying, and every
filezilla's user told me it once.

Oh, wait, this is because of the language pack stuff. I'm assuming
gnome-panel's gnome-desktop-item-edit only changes Name[en] and etc
instead of changing the Name key too so Ubuntu's modified gnome-panel
/gnome-menus ignores it and uses it's language pack.
